I just only shaved every 7 - 10 days because of my sensitive skin. Thank god I have found straight razors....I almost forgot how much I used to itch for 2 or 3 days straight after a shave man was that distracting and painful at times!

I had the same experience and went electric. Amazingly that didn't irritate my skin much and it removed hair, so I went through 2 of them before finally buying that Zeepk (a stumble instead of the first step on a long and pleasant journey)

I had worse experiences with electric Luckily I had a straight shave from a barber who told me about DE's so I started using them...and my curiousity peaked when I saw a real straight razor...then I found this site and the rest as they say is history!

Strangely enough I decided to switch from DE to straight partially to "save money on blades" HAHA....right....

Lol. Any one of the razors you bought would be more than enough for a lifetime of DE blades and the Gilette that I bought yesterday cost me $5 and polished up easily, thanks to my str8-restoration skills. Ofcourse this is just for occasional use.

Well I'll use that as my next excuse for needing some cool tools when we have room

Tools that I needed to take care of this one:
    Disinfection:
    -Stove (came with the house)
-Pot, half-filled with water (just a regular kitchen pot we use for making tea) $2 (at the dollar-store)
-Broken colander (free, it was a reject from the place where I used to work, but I thought it'd come in useful lol)
-Used toothbrush to scrub off the soap scum after boiling ($1)

    Patina cleanup and polishing:
-Mastercraft rotary tool (Dremel knockoff) ($15, used but I got the full kit with a flex shaft)
-1 small felt pad (already used it to clean up 5-6 razors and it should be ok for a few more) (probably like $3 for a pack of 5-10)
-A couple of dabs of Dremel(R) polishing compound ($3-5)
-A few dabs of CLR Metal Clear ($7)
    -A rag torn off a torn bed-sheet

As you can see, you already have most of the stuff you need and the rest would cost you about $30. It took me about 20 minutes of actual to prep this baby for shaving.

Actually my friend switched to the Fusion a few months back and loves it! Can't praise it enough. He did comment on the blade cost though. I purchased my cartidges (before going straight) on ebay and got them for around 50% retail. My quattro cartridges cost be about $1 each. I believe they are close to $3 in the store now.

I still haven't seen a fusion so far.
