I sent a friendly message to the ebay seller just making him aware of a few of the more prominent names to produce stainless razors and this is the response i got from him:

Hi, Do you shave with a straight razor? Have you ever honed a stainless straight razor? If you will hone both the carbon steel and the stainless steel, you would throw the stainless one out the door. The stainless one's are OK with the replaceable blades like the hair style people use. If you don't hone razors then you need to try it.

Without trying to be rude: I DO shave with a straight razor, 7 days a week and yes I've honed both carbon and stainless blades on naniwa chosera sharpening stones and I have an ozuku mizu asagi japanese natural finishing stone.

I think you should go to the world's largest shaving forum and read about stainless razors. Straight Razor Place - Welcome to Straight Razor Place
I'm a member there. I really think you are mistaken as the stainless blades produced by henckels, dovo, hess, boker, etc are actually more expensive than their carbon blades. Sure the stainless are a little harder to sharpen (they require more laps on a stone to remove steel) but they also maintain a sharper and longer lasting edge.

Sometimes you have to take the babblings of an ebay seller for what they are babblings.

Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

I like my 5/8 DOVO 41 and 7/8 Henckels Friodurs, very smooth shavers that respond well to my pasted and everyday stropping. I enjoy not having to worry about rust with the stainless razors. I also have carbon steel razors and always feel a little anxiety that they may start rusting on me, or that vintage ones previously affected by rust may start rusting again. This is especially true of carbon razors that have gold wash or etchings that may be easily damaged by any rust removal. I do not always oil the carbon blades that I use almost every day, but periodically check and rewipe the less frequently used ones that have been waxed with Renaissance Wax and oiled with Camellia oil before storage. The pictures were acquired through the vendors at the time of sale or the original source of their razor before sale to me.

    Totally forgot about the Wapis!

The rescale makes them a joy to use! Too heavy a handle makes them hard to manage when making quick moves.
