    Default Vintage razors

I have a pair of straight razors stamped "JOHN BROOKES" SHEFFIELD. I cannot find anyone who has seen these and all I can find is that John Brookes joined Thomas Crookes in 1858. Would anyone know where I might find more information?

    regards
    John

Thanks for the response. I had actually seen this directory but John Brookes is not listed. He is on some old Sheffield directories but no one seems to have come across razors stamped John Brookes.

Look up Brookes and Crookes. Highly regarded and sought after shavers. If my memory serves me correct, John Brookes is part of that team.

I stumbled across your question while researching a British WWII marlin spike jack knife. It was also stamped John Brooke's Sheffield on th e blade and 1943 on the opener. Were you able to trace John Brookes further? Presumably the same firm?
