If you can take close up photos of the suspect area of rust it would be more easily seen on a computer monitor. I can't tell from the photos posted. Clean the metal surface with metal polish, q-tip and a paper towel.

That will get the surface stuff. Not any pitting or all discoloration. Keep that one isolated from your others and check on the progress or the lack of it. I've had a few I quarantined and they ended up not having the rot. I've had a couple that did have it.

Those look like bakelite scales and even if they are celluloid cell rot is rather rare from what I have seen on black celluloid scales.

Cleaned it up a little with some WD-40 and Q-tips, the rusty spots are still visible but I can't feel them by touch anymore, used a little sandpaper but stopped, afraid it would leave scratches on the blade.
The photos are still taken with my cell, so I couldn't do sharper than this. I guess if I want to leave more posts on this forum I'll have to invest in a camera !

    Whaaw They're beautiful !
I still haven't shaved with mine, I tried to hone it but being a novice honer I'm thinking to send it to Lynn for honing. But living in France the shipping would be kind of expensive... I don't know of any honers in France...

To be honest I wouldn't send it out. If you are going to learn to hone just put it away until you can hone it yourself. Say that because IME a razor that thin will not be a pleasure to shave with. YMMV.

    I like it!
One time, in band camp, I shaved with a Gold Dollar razor.
