Thanked: 0so i'm debating whether to get a 6/8 TI (Sheffield blade) or perhaps this Henkels Friodurs with the cocobolo scales. If there's someone out there with experience with both TI and Henckels, I'd love to hear how you'd compare the performance of each, thanks.

not sure about the Ti
but i can tell you i have a few henkles and they are some of my best shavers. as a matter of fact my best shaver is a henkles
by the way i just picked up some cocobollo that im going to make some scales out of also just made some scales out of walnut also a beautiful wood
ul uses lemon oil and beeswax for a satin natural finish
does anyone know if i can poly or ca finish on top of the oil beeswax or will it not stick to the wood now

Grottolord
well here are the scales , im going to apply a tung oil finish tomorrow if i pick up the oil.
tried to get the most out of the marbling in the wood.
also included for your approval are scales made out of cherry, red oak coccobolla, and a wade and butcher on walnut scales the W+B was my first attempt at a complete restoration, Many more to come I hope/

RT is right. If you want an amazing cocobola razor..or amy wood for that matter...get in touch with Robert Williams. He's made me many and they are all great. If you want his e-mail, throw me a PM.
I will try to upload a couple razors he has made me recently
