Thanked: 1263Still kind of hard to tell, might just be light angle or discoloration. Polish it up a bit and put it away for awhile and if it returns you'll know.
And if everything is ok you've got a nice looking razor there. Congrats.

Thanked: 0Well, I'm halfway there. A little Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish brightened the blade right up. Then some gentle rubbing with plastic cleaner/polish on the scales. Turns out the black on the tang isn't tarnish, it was actually blackened on purpose. Cool!
Now to hone it up and try it out!

It actually seems to be quite rare. Most Otto Deutsch razors are the Hans ones, in translucent green scales (as mentioned above). It's the first one I've seen, anyway.
