Default Bird, Bird, Bird, "The Bird" is the word . . .

"The Bird" may be the word, but this Bird is a question mark. Has anyone ever come across one of these guys? "The Bird" is all that is stamped on the tang. The scales and the spacer are made of al-you-min-i-yum. It's a good shaver, but I've never come across any mention of this razor. Anyone have a good idea?

I saw one of those on bay a while back, but I don't remember if it had aluminum scales. It looks like a nice razor.

Just make sure it doesn't fly out the window.

I have always thought that type of metal scales were for medical use, was it so?

Figuratively it is going out the window since I was thinking about putting it in the classifieds for sale.

Not necessarily. I think that the razors used in hospitals had stainless steel scales.

I had one of these in yellow plastic scales. Never honed it and got rid of it a while ago, so I can't comment there. But it definitely wasn't a medical razor.

No, I mean the ones with the plain metal scales.
The blade it self is like any razor but my question was it the ones with metal scales were intended for medical use.
I've seen CVHs with metal scales that were for the army field hospitals.

Weck made razors intended for medical use with stainless steel scales, but they also made a smaller razor called the "Bantam" that had s/s scales.

Was any more information found out about this razor? I received this (with a hickory scale) as my first straight razor for my birthday on Wednesday that allegedly came from a great grandparent, so any potential to add to or dispel this idea would be wonderful.
