I may end up reselling this. Not that I don't like the DE but I was hoping for a usable one, not a collector's piece. I would even be up for trade for a DE that can use modern blades.

The blades are specific as mentioned. I don't care much for DEs as I'm a straight razor guy, but I know a lot if gents out there with a W&B DE. The blades are far more "perminant" than a regular disposable DE blade, even though they too were disposable so to speak. I think there would be enough intrest out there for one bladesman to make a reproduction blade for the old guy.... Though I've never shave with one I would have to imagine that the curved, thicker gauge, well tempered W&B blade would have been more forgiving and smoother than the modern DE blades we see today. I have also seen NOS raplacement blades sell online.... The one thing I have to say about NOS DE blades is that oxidation over time makes the nearly unhonable edge not so new any more. Therefore I would be very surprised if there is a well shaving W&B DE blade left in existence.

I shaved with mine just once and then carefully coated the blade in oil and stored it away. A very cool piece, not better than a current DE and blades are expensive. Name: DSC00779.jpg
