Wade & Butcher DE
I came across a Wade and Butcher DE on the bay and was so intrigued that I had to buy it. I will post pics when it comes in. Anyone have any info on it?

Made in Jersey City, NJ after Durham Duplex bought them out. IIRC it only takes special W&B blades. I have never shaved with mine.

Thanked: 375I have one also with only one curved blade, I've never used it because of that. I usually don't hang onto stuff I can't use, but it's unique so I've kept it in my colection.

While this is the first time I've seen one, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if the W&B DE did require 'razor specific' blades!!!
When my least favorite ex-wife and her new 'buddy' bought our son a beater '88 Toyota for $200 it need a turn signal flasher. The buddy bought a generic one and tried to modify it. When the idiot couldn't make it work, I was asked to figure out how to get the turn signals to work. I went to my local Toyota dealership and asked a parts man that i've worked with for close to 40 years for a flasher unit. I plugged it in and sent my son home and told him to show his stepfather how easy it was to fix!
Specific parts are just that, Specific!

I just double checked and modern blades will not work with my copy. The two stabilizing pins machined into the top cap are round most of the way but the last 3/16 where they come out of the top cap (on either side of the screw that the handle fastens onto, are squared off and prevent the razor from closing completely on a modern blade.

I may end up reselling this. Not that I don't like the DE but I was hoping for a usable one, not a collector's piece. I would even be up for trade for a DE that can use modern blades.
