Thread: Dovo Flowing vs Bergischer Lowe

As with almost all current production Dovo's both of these straight razors provide a comfortable shave but I would give a slight edge to the Flowing in shaving, a very slight edge. I have both and have shaved many times with both. The BL is a very well made good looking straight razor but you will need to be more aware
of your regular maintenance duties to protect and maintain the attractive features. If you have been shaving with the Bismark I would recommend the BL as the choice between the two for you. Or, as has been suggested, get them both as you will not regret that option either.

I have had the BL for sometime now and have no problems maintaining the razor. If you go that route just make sure and keep the thing lightly oiled between shaves and you will be fine. The BL was the first spanish point razor I owned, having many other Dovo's prior to it, I like the BL better than all my other Dovo's. Being a 5/8 with a spanish point it does allow for some precise cutting. I found it a bit more work to get a great edge on it, but once you do its a keeper. Being what I would call an intermediate honer, I sent it out to gssixgun and he put a very sharp, smooth edge on it. Its ike a hot knige going through butter now!
