I think back in the really old days having a seven day set with Ivory Scales was the thing to have, kind of like owning a Rolex Watch or driving an upscale BMW now. Most really rich people did have a butler or some servant who probably did shave him at home. It was more the upper middleclass people who went to a barber on a regular basis for a shave. A really rich person wouldn't mingle with the riff-raff in a commercial establishment you know.

I think it's more fun to have 7 different razors from different manufacturers. Variety's the spice of life

Thanked: 5Maybe they also have a seven day set so that they can go a whole week without needing to strop their razor ? Then every week someone (servant, blacksmith?) would come and sharpen/strop all seven for them, and they could go another week without worries.

I find that car restoration is the best possible threat. It gets into every weekend and tens of thousands.
