    I have one celluloid scaled razor that's held up so far, but thanks for the heads up. I try to use more resilient scales like micarta and plastic, but I have a snakewood TI on the way. Hopefully it holds up...my guitars don't seem to have any problems.

    Rusty strings are easily replaced if you do .

    Interesting. I like to use gun oil but will be interesting see outcome of this experiment.

    I personally use Ballistol. Used on almost 'all' surfaces a soldier might have(:-).

    I started reading this post but just can't get past the fact that you live on the ocean - and use a straight. The two don't seem to go hand in hand.
