Default Merkur Straight Edge Razor from the 1920's

I have no idea what this is worth but I thought that a new razor from the 1920's with the name Merkur was just a neat thing to have. Let me know what you think.

That's a lovely piece. It looks too new though. If you hadn't told me 1920's I would have thought it'd been made recently.

    Where'd you find this?

If that's the one I think it is there's this guy on Eboy who apparently has a whole crate of those things. They are 2/8s razors. Pretty useless except for specialty trimming but they are NOS. I have one.

I don't know if it is who you are thinking of our not, I actually bought two of them, the vendor is 1001 pieces, one is exact ally the same as that Murk, the other is a BONSA 5/8 number 9954. I got both of them for $40.00 each. I haven't got a chance to use them yet, just got them yesterday.

I've got one - a French Point 4/8 Stainless Steel Merkur from 1001pcs - it's my favorite shaver - I like the narrower blade, and really like the point (I believe that's called a French Point - I think other sources refer to it as an 'oblique' point) - it's great for detailing around the mustache and sideburns.

If you decide you don't like it, let me know....

The Merkur came today. It is gorgeous and measures 5/8! It came from Bulgaria, WOW. Here is the link.

I've been looking over his other wares. Some very interesting things. He has some old apothecary bottles that would make some snazzy aftershave containers.
