I have encountered another problem with the second GD razor. The pivot hole is drilled too low on the tang. The tang is not flat but V shaped somewhat. In other words it is thicker at the top. So...

Well it is hard to explain but . All the stone work did not help so being a 30 year veteran of both razors and knife making, I simply went to what I know and that was to figure out what the problem...

I don't know but I am working on another and it seems to be just as bad.

Well, I have repaired the heel and the toe is now a spike point, The tang is almost straight. I did what glen said with the scales. I will know for sure when I pin it. I am making a set of tiger...

I have noticed that the tang is very thick. Is it a good idea to thin that out.

You the man, Glenn, Thanks, and I am going to re scale it with micarta.

Does anyone know off hand the thread about how to make a GD razor usable ? I have one that has been laying around a while. Might as well do something with it.
