Have you ever bought a "Gold Dollar" Razor? They look amazing. They also take an edge, but they too sound like crap on the hone/strop.

I don't mean to be rude, but on what basis do you say it looks good to you? If you think it looks good you should have a reason and I would love to know what that reason is?

That looks a little bit suspect to me. Does it feel raised? A proper wash should feel fairly flush since it should only be a few microns raised (it is electroplating after all)
