Twice. Between 20 and 30 minutes each time

Our yearly two loaves of rye bread. They always taste so good, but look so terrible. I'm referring to the sides of my loaves.
Can you diagnose what the problem is? I am still relatively new at this...

In my oven, it was 43 minutes at 350F.

Baked some kid-friendly bread this weekend (recipe). The results were the best yet.
The only thing I did differently was that (by mistake) I doubled up on the pan.
