Just back from my Holiday at the North Sea Shore, I had the first shave after 7 Days, and it was necessary,
by the way, could you imagine the look of a mid american guerillero after a week in the Bush? Thats the way i looked
about one hour ago (sad that i didnt had the right Cohiba for the Look :-)).
Now im shaved and man, it was satisfying & angelic

    Sunday evening
    Hot water prep
Wade & Butcher FBU razor - LaToja sc - generic silvertip badger brush - cold water splash - Proraso balm - hot shower - Ambre Russe Eau de Parfum sampler from Parfum d'Empire

Excellent Sunday shave. W&B in top shape and all other components only adding to the glory. The "russian amber" is an "okay" scent. It's mainstream as far as I'm concerned. Have a great week gentlemen!

    Henry Martin razor
    Erasmic shave stick
    VDH Boars hair brush
    Florida water

Haven't used this razor in a while. Touched it up on a hone and proceeded to get a fine shave. It must have been a little angry for the lack of attention. I got a small nick on my left jawline.

I spent the afternoon turning a new brush handle for a bit of a monster knot (30x~83mm high mountain badger) that I've had sitting around for a little while and now I wish I hadn't waited this long: the thing lathers like a beast. There's still plenty of badger funk in it, but that will pass and otherwise I couldn't be happier. Also, I love working with bocote. There's almost always some interesting grain lurking under the surface there.

    Have a great week, everybody!

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

    Monday

    Razor | Mühle R 89 | Cream | Tabac | After Shave | Tabac

I have some very exciting news today. Two bits of news actually, first bit is I taught my younger son (16) how to shave with a straight on the weekend. It was a joint effort really, between me and my older son (21) who I taught to shave with a straight couple of years ago.

The second piece of exciting news is that I found yesterday that I can do a chinup on the doorframe. I’m, pretty good at normal chin-ups (for a 51 year old) being able to pump out 17 or so, but doing them on a slightly less than 2 CM standard doorframe is pretty spectacular, I think .)

The shave was with a DE, which is odd. I almost NEVER use a DE on weekdays; but I just felt like it. I ‘forced’ myself to go with the Tabac cream and aftershave; ‘forcing’ myself away from my recently acquired love of Irisch Moos cream and TOBS Mr Sidney’s aftershave.
