Tuesday night shave
Hot water prep
Jeness "Dragon Slayer" razor in Amboyna burl - TOBS Sandalwood shaving cream - generic silvertip badger brush - cold water splash - Calani purissima balm - hot towel - Lorenzo Villoresi Piper Nigrum Eau de Toilette
An excellent shave with the Dragon Slayer. I got this beautiful blade through the Classifieds section. Thanks SRP! It came from Bob (lz6) and I'm thrilled to actually own it now. Hats off to the creator of the blade. Jenes, if you are reading this now: Thanks! You have created an amazing blade that shaves like a dream. I'm left silky smooth after two passes and will acknowledge that the spike got me once, though not heavy. A minor weeper. Just goes to show that spikes demand respect.

Arguably the worst shaving video every made. I had to rush it as the camera’s memory stick only allowed for a short video, and I still didn't get all of the second pass in! Then I noticed that not all of it uploaded to Flickr! Hope it gives you a good laugh!

Carl, the video is actually pretty good! I look forward to a full three-pass shave one for the next time!!! Great to see you, 'live', in person!

Musgo pre-shave oil / Sapone da Barba Vegetale alla Mandorla / Mühle Basic #02 STF / G’ TŌWA’ T, full hollow 13/16” / Osma Alum / Musgo Real Classic AS
First shave with this Japanese straight and, what can I say? It did not disappoint! Despite already high expectations due to the shaves I’ve gotten from the other Japanese straight (the Gold-Rex) in my stable, this one seems to have put the bar up even higher by a few notches. Smooth would be an apt description of the shave, it was like cutting whiskers with silk. Feather DE blades feel outright aggressive compared to this one (and I am a sucker for Feather blades, mind you!)Last edited by Smoothy; 10-02-2013 at 02:48 AM. Reason: added a link and fixed a typo

Wednesday Morning, 02 October 2013, Cold Water Shave
Prep: Warm Shower
Prep: Cold water splash
Soap: Speick (Face Lathered with cold water)
Brush: Vie-Long Horse Hair
Strop: SRD 2" Natural
Razor: Mockba 5/8
Toner: Medicated Superhazel
Two passes with the grain. Very smooth.
Long hot day at work in the factory, second shift 3pm-11pm, the cold water shave after work was very refreshing.Last edited by kettlebell; 10-02-2013 at 05:52 AM.
A man should only look in the mirror when he shaves.
