Razor: JA Henckles #16 5/8
Brush: custom silvertip badger
Soap: Godrej
AS: Thayer's Lemon
Second shave with the #16 and I'm in heaven. This razor is magnificent. Also really like the Godrej soap! For being so cheap @ $3.00 I was pleasantly surprised how well it stood up, also has a great scent.

160 laps on the King 800 hone, 40 laps on the hide strop, 40 on the leather strop, 40 on the CrOX strop. After letting my face have a weekend off, I was a bit dubious about giving the razor another go. I wasn't fancying another week of scrapes and burns. The only difference between last weeks honing effort and the last time the blade was used, was the CrOX powder/paste. Certainly there was no difference in my pre-shave routine. The WTG strokes felt like nothing I'd felt from the previous week... no scraping. XTG felt like wiping, not scraping. ATG... it still pulled, so I suspect I just need some work on technique there. Overall though, it's as though it's a different razor.
It's not pretty, thanks to rust scars. It's not perfect, but I finally have a useable straight.
And one that I can say I honed myself.~ Dave ~ ... back to lurking...
