These little dudes take great edges. They are good razors for a daily shaver. I use the HESS after shave sparingly now. Once it’s gone, IT’S GONE. And I’m getting all the mileage out of the OSMA ALUM and Valobra. Hope the NJ meeting went well, look forward to seeing some pics. Have a nice day!

Since my Dad passed last May I I've not enjoyed straight razor shaving at all. I closely associated my enjoyment of Straight razors with him. It was one of the things I remember enjoying with just me and Dad. I remember going to the barber with him as a young kid and watching the barber shave and cut his hair and then I would get my hair trimmed as well. As I got older we would go to the barber together and get a shave and hair cut.
When he passed, for 30 days I only shaved when required, then used a DE much of the time. During the summer I was away from home for 5 weeks and only used a multi blade. Since then I have not used a straight razor. The few times I used a Str8, I did not enjoy it at all, it was just labor.
Yesterday I finally thought about how a str8 shave would be nice. I took the first Str8 I ever used, my favorite shave cream and a Bill (Pixelfixed ) brush and went and showered and shaved.
It was very nice and thank goodness muscle memory is long lasting. I was afraid I would butcher myself. Three passes and my face was smoother than it has been in a long time.
This one was for him. Miss him terribly.
