    Sunday

Razor | Klas Törnblom Frameback, Ivory scales | Superlather | Proraso/Faulding ‘Shave’ | After Shave | Proraso pre/post/ Lavanda

Haven’t posted a SOTD for YONKS!

Very relaxing, slow shave today in the bedroom at the shaving stand.

Sounds was The Brian Jonestown Massacre ‘Spacegirl and Other Favorites’.

    The razor was fresh off the hones – Norton 4/8 and Shapton. 4 x 10, 8 x 20, 4 x 9, 8 x 20, 4 x 8, 8 x 20 (etc) to 4 x 1, 8 x 20 then 40 on the Shapton 16k followed by 30 linen, 70 English bridle. The edge was close to perfect, as was the whole shave.

I did little ‘buffing’ or ‘polishing’ motions on the jaw line for the second pass; very short, very light repeated strokes.

The Proraso pre/post (a gift from Ed) was very welcome. I used it pre and post with Lavanda over the top…

Extremely cheap (2.99) Merlot enhanced the mood.

As I shaved in the bedroom I could hear Bailey, my grandson, chattering away in the lounge room. He’s six now, and very chattery.

My 16 YO son wants me to buy him a kamisori, and me, his father, having never shaved with one!

I'm unsure how many years (or decades) my kamisori (to buy or not to buy) dilemma will persist for, but I do know your excellent photo has hastened the purchasing...
