Thanked: 1185Ice Water Haircut and Shave
Conditioner/olive oil prep, Friedmann and Lauterjung Electric, Tweezerman Badger, Mitchell's Wool Fat, Lucky Tiger Bay Rum, Acqua Di Selva EdC
Ice Water- If you live where the water from the tap isn't particularly cold (like I do) every once in a while treating yourself to an iced water shave is very nice. Not only will it wake you up instantaneously but it leaves your skin very tight and is just very refreshing. In the summer when it's very hot I do these almost every weekend.
This razor is amazing. It's certainly not the prettiest of the lot but I like a heavy razor and this one just feels very good in my hands. If this shave is any indication, the edge is right where I like it. It's the perfect balance between a toothy and a velvety smooth edge. I could have easily stopped after one pass on the spud and one on the face but I was just having so much fun, I made it two. Spud and face are both BBS. Great shave! The older I get, the better I was

Saturday night scrape.
I think I have posted here before….the Double Duck was sharpened earlier by setting the bevel on a 600 grit Chosera stone…followed by the full range of Naniwas 3000, 8000, and 10,000 and then followed by 15 passes on a paddle strop loaded with CrOx. I got a very smooth shave with no irritation after applying the AS. I used Cella shaving soap and a 22mm knot Vulfix brush; and finished with Aqua Velva Musk. HOG
