Today I finished the first attempt at honing The Workman 4/8 half-hollow NOS blade that I scaled yesterday. I gave 2 days of stubble my normal prep (used C&E Sweet Almond Oil cream) and gave it a shot...
-With the grain it pulled a bit, but not unbearably so, which indicates that it needs some work on the hones.
-It was just fine against the grain, so it looks like it won't need MUCH work (maybe a few 1-5s and 20 passes on the Cr2O3)
-Left me with a clean shave and my skin wasn't irritated
I can't wait for tomorrow's shave test. If it shaves me well twice (today doesn't count due to WTG pulling), I'll know that:
a) It makes a good shaver
b) The storage conditions (it did need to be cleaned up with the flaps before mounting the scales) did not mess up the temper of the metal

This time The Workman passed the shave-test with flying colors. It mowed through everything my face had to throw at it, with ease. Tomorrow I'm doing another shave-test and if it performs as well as it did today, it will be up for sale
