T. Turner again
I selected the Thos. Turner once again for today’s shave. Suds were provided by Proraso sandalwood shaving cream and a Silver tip Omega brush/ Razorock alum stick and I finished it off with some Osage Rub.

Merkur Long Blades
Castle Forbe's Lime
Proraso ASL
Speik Deo
Omega Brush
When life gives you lemons, use Castle Forbe's Lime Shaving Cream. Omega brush is new and works like a charm with a dense cream. I think I will always love a good boar brush. I do not even see why they need a break in period. They feel great. YMMV. The shavette is not the best item in the bunch but I am getting better at using one. I just not ready to plunge into the Feather AC for a disposable straight system. The Speik deo has a nice scent I might have to get the ASL or cream. Been a long time since a post here @ SOTD. Been busy working a new job. I have enjoyed seeing the FSOTD, as always. May the Schwartz be with you. From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place

SOTD 16 APRIL
Prep-Wash face with Irish Spring
Hot towels over lather
Soap-Van der Hagen Select
Brush-Van der Hagen Boar
Strop-Musicians Friend
Razor-Boker American Line SS St Louis
Post-Cold towels
St Ives Lavender, Lilac and B5 replenishing lotion
Old Spice AS
Three passes with the straight. Nice, clean shave. Couple of nicks, but Mr. Styptic to the rescue, and all is well. Still reserving judgement, but the VdH Select isn't impressing me much. It may just require a different water ratio than the Deluxe, so I'll give it a couple more shaves, but the lather while easy to produce is unremarkable. Scent is nonexistent, as is cushion or glide.
The Deluxe is far superior, and if things don't improve, I'll be chucking this puck in the trash and popping some Deluxe in this bowl. We shall see.
Have a great shave!Mike
