Pretty good shave. Hat's off to Tony's strop and Howard's coticule for putting the finishing touches to a sharp as heck (but perhaps too flexible) blade. Got this blade in an ebay lot a few months back and it seemed like it had been used for opening boxes or something. It took a lot of effort to get it shave ready - not sure if it was worth the trouble because it's very hollow ground and very flexible.

Very nice. The first time I got a nice shave out of the Taylors rose cream. The first time I tried I scratched myself up pretty bad. I like it now though, although I have to admit I still find rose scent a bit of a weird scent.

My third shave with a straight, but my first posting here...

KOS oil soaking in whilst drying off
Lather up with Haslinger Marigold soap
Cheap, reliable generic drugstore brush
Solingen made 4/8 "already honed"
20 passes on linen, 20 passes on leather with lather on
Wash now cold lather off and relather with hot
Shave almost whole face wtg
Get cocky and try a xtg
Slight nick to right cheek
Stiptic pencil to cut
Homemade aftershave balm with (censored - girlfriend wants to keep the recipe secret)
Givenchy Very Irrisistable aftershave (love the smell)

Still can't approach my chin area, mainly due to not wanting to mess up my facial hair arrangement there (been described as 70's porn star moustache with centre stripe, but i think its unfair).

Razor burnt on my neck - and a little on my left cheek which I can't quite master. All in all though, passed the girlfriend test nicely (rubbing of the face and an "ooooh"), and razor burn nothing like as bad as when I use an electric.

Getting there - but patience is something I was born with thankfully (other hobbies include Bonsais and World of Warcraft).
