A day off work to take my grandson Bailey to hospital to get a cast on his leg because his fibula is now in his arm replacing his humerus due to bone cancer that he had last year or so. Funny, really, the games you have to play with kids: "Everybody at school will want one of these" and 'This is so cool, I wish I had one" and "Now you look exactly like Iron Man" etc.

On return home I walked/ran up to the top of Mount Torrens and back, 28:23. Far short of my PB of 20:51 which was back on 2002. Then a hot shower and a nice shave in the bedroom at the shaving stand; minimalist with the bowl, jug of hot water and all. I really love my bedroom shaving stand shaves. Today it was joined with a nice glass of 2010 Penfolds cabernet sauvignon.

Razor was the Burrell Top Flight fresh of the Shapton 16k (20 laps), soap was Madame Scodioli Step Right Up and aftershave was Myrosol Aqua de Limón. After that I iced my hands for 15 minutes (I have sore tendons from climbing) and watched the movie The Tempest. Not in the mood for it really, so now I think I'll watch The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc which looks interesting, and even if it's a little silly (which I think it will be) I'll like the language (it's in French) and the style and clothing...
