    Sunday 31st August 2014

PreShave : A&S Shea Butter Beurre De Karite and hot towel
Soap: Proraso Cream/ Omega Soap (Nice Combo)
    Brush: Semogue 620
    Razor: CJB Customs Handle
    Blade: Feather Pro
Post Shave: Allume Di Rocca Naturale
Post Shave 2: I Coloniali Facial and Aftershave Balm
    Finish: Floid Blue

My last few shaves have been a real joy using the Feather Artist and the CJB. I am able to get a CCS most of the time and mostly nik free, and even a BBS on occasion. It has been a long learning curve and still some way to go but worth the effort and blood loss. Have a great week.

This was the third razor that was loaned to me by Sharptonn and by far the best of the three. The first was an EverRite hollow ground safety razor which I never got the hang of (far to much to worry about for a safety razor). The second was a kamisori which I didnt get along with at all. But this Ever Ready is a superb shaving instrument. It was the most fun I had with a safety razor as well. With its steep head angle the most radical Ive ever used. A very cool designed razor indeed.

    Thanks Tom.

Mastro Livi "The Last New Grind", 6/8 Half Hollow, Round Point

Today shave is dedicated to the endless talent of Mastro Livi and his art. Brush, strop and razor are all made by Mastro Livi and, by the way, the straight razor is very special. Not only for being a superb shaver, but also for the fact this is the very last new grind ever made by Mastro Livi, the one ending the glorious story of those seventy years old blades and brought to life by Mastro Livi. This is the razor I filmed in the video I made in which Mastro Livi tells the story of these blades and razor. By the way, the shave was superb, the brush super soft and pleasing, the lavender smell of Weleda soap was simply a lovely touch to this amazing shave.

    • Pre-Shave: Proraso Pre-Shave Green
    • Soap: Weleda Shaving Cream
    • Brush: Mastro Livi Silvertip Badger Brush - Knot 26mm
    • Bowl: Old Barber Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm Stropping
    • Razor: Mastro Livi "The Last New Grind", 6/8 Half Hollow, Round Point
    • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    • After Shave: Floïd Masaje Genuino Mentolado Vigoroso After Shave

May this week bring you all a bit of kindness!
Wostenholm, Rasage á l'ancienne, boar, Royall 'Lyme'

The Day, partly sunny 82F / 28C. The Shave, a nice simple and quick shave. Nothing special and the old Lyme is a good product.

PS, The worry about opening an ancient product was for nothing...much. The product is not as old as was thought; it had a plastic bit in the old pewter stopper. Still vintage though, and mellow.
