Thanked: 92 days' stubble
hot towel
Plisson HMW 12
Tabac soap
vintage Clydesdale Shell strop
razors:
- Hekjestrand MK 10
- Butcher Bros
- Wilbert High Art
CSF
Very good shave, if I exclude a scary episode when moving one of the razors across my neck and nicking myself in the process
Heljestrand was somewhere above 9+ / 10.
The Butcher got almost 10 / 10 in its first apprarance. I removed microchips and passed HHT of 1K, then did a little 4K and 8K, followed by some Belgian and Escher. Finished with chromium oxide. Planned to sell this one but now I am having second thoughts...
Wilbert stays solid at 9+ / 10. I can't seem to get it to improve above this, and I thought it could be better...
Cheers

Hmm... mixed feelings about this morning's shave.
Despite stropping my W.H. Sample 60 or so times last night (with very good form, I might add), it was fairly "grabby" and harsh-feeling. Ironically, though, I got an excellent shave! I was bold enough to do an ATG pass under my chin, and I escaped without much irritation. Only a few tiny nicks, too.
Perhaps I should have just let the lather soak in a few more minutes...

First shave with the new Dovo from Tony!
It was also my first time with a brush, mug, and "real" soap too. Took a while to get a good lather, but the shave went well after that, with a couple nicks and minor irritation.
Even though it was "shave-ready", it still failed the HHT, and met with about the same resistance from my chin-whiskers as the W H Sample. From that, I figure:
1) My hair is tough, so prep is important!
2) My technique needs work -- I think I'm still using too steep an angle.

Thanked: 9Is that the Lucky Tiger Skin Toner? I think it's great for my skin, and quite cheap. I use it but am a bit turned off by the citrusy scent. My wife is not crazy about the scent too. Luckily she likes Coral Skin Food
