Thanked: 1185Prep: 30 mile bike ride/ lukewarm shower
Razor: Maggard MR-8
Brush: Omega Boar
Soap: Arko Shavestick
AS: Clubman
Stash: Firehouse Light Moustache Wax
Quite a while since I pulled out the Arko. It's a great performing soap that I will most certainly use more often. Intel Dump on the MR-8: At 180g this is the fat kid on the Maggard playground. The first time I handled it, it occurred to me that this would be an ideal home defense projectile in case of a home invasion. Despite it's unusual heft, it's a great shave and isn't at all cumberson. Performance is fantastic and brings a whole new dimension to the term "let the weight of the razor do the work". Strange this razor is functionally quite aggressive but doesn't feel that way at all while being used. A North-South pass followed by a South-North pass left my face BBS and rendered a shave that will not have me looking scruffy for at least a couple days. The best part though is the purchase price. You just can't beat this for a < $25 razor. It would be a bargain at twice the price.Last edited by 1OldGI; 06-07-2015 at 07:16 PM.
