Much has been written about the Ever-Ready Streamline. It is one of the most expensive single edge razors in the market. And I had often wondered why. Well, I finally managed to get one for reasonable money with the help of a friend from England (thank you, Paul!), including box, stropper, and strop. Very nice. Sooo... I took it on a test drive. And I am beginning to understand why it receives so much praise. It really is a very nice razor.
Also in this picture, my current favourite line-up:
- Meißner Tremonia Gentle Menthol preshave soap. Degreases, and softens the whiskers. A preshave that actually works.
- 26mm Thäter two band fan.
- Meißner Tremonia Gentle Menthol shaving soap. Same quality as the rest of their soaps. Perfect.
- Meißner Tremonia Gentle Menthol aftershave splash.
- Meißner Tremonia Gentle Menthol aftershave balm. This is the best aftershave balm I have tried so far. Skin care is as good as that of Baume.be (yes, that good), but the added menthol works extremely well, and the sublime, slightly floral scent is simply perfect.
So... Different strokes and all that, but for me, this is perfection. One day, there will be an even better set-up, but right now, this is the best one I know.

Just come off a run of night shifts so enjoyed a slow morning with coffee and shaving kit. The Myrsol is new to me - less menthol than my usual AS splash (Alcolado), but great scent and so far (after half hour) better skin properties.
Thater 2 Band, King Pelican 18, Tabac cream with glycerine, Myrsol Splash

Thanked: 485Razor | Kamisori | Pre | Proraso Pre/post | Cream | Wahl Traditional Barbers' | After Shave | Wahl Traditional Barbers' Bay Rum
I had some time tonight so decided to hone the new kamisori. I'd already shaved this morning with the Burrell Top Flight straight razor and didn't really need a shave but couldn't resist finding out how my honing had worked out. Did sets of 6 up 1 back after flipping on the 6th. Did 3 sets on the 4k, 6 on the 8k and 7 on the 16k.
Finally worked out how to hold the thing and got the angles worked out. It's still difficult to do the LH side of my face and neck, quite different from using a straight razor where I can swap hands and flip the razor.
I reckon after maybe 20 sets on the 16k it'll be ready.
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
