    Yes bob once i took your suggestion and filled the one side with palmolive it has become my favourite mug. Everything i need. Soak the brush on one side, load on the other and then dip to add water. Not to mention you could use the empty deep side to hang your brush if you didnt have a stand.

    Only con is that knots larger then 26mm wouldnt fit comfortably.

    I don't think ordinary people used very big knots back in the day and I suspect mostly boar and horse hair ones at that. A large badger knot was probably pricey even back then.

    Right now its my second favourite to the edwin jagger. I dont know what it is the EJ just gives awesome shaves to me. I tried the vintage open comb and hated it. Same with a few other of the vintage gillettes. May settle on using only two or so until i give them back. The others will collect dust lol.
