Thanked: 250---Tarnished Tuesday---
Razor--John Doe no name.
Strop--SRD Premium 1 and Illinois 6454.
Soap--Four soap concoction of Williams, Kirks, Watkins, and Creamo.
Brush--VDH badger.
Aftershave--witch hazel and a dab of Mennen Afta.
Result--Since I can't post pics you will have to do a visual of this tarnished wonder. I inherited the razor from my Great-Uncle Noah. Before I got it the family even used it to finish scrape a scalded hog. The blade is tarnished to a fine, even, gunmetal gray in a set of scales the color of yellow calf scours. The pin washers are brass although they look like they came out of a farmer's bolt bin. After a good honing on the coticule John Doe is one of my all time great shavers. Today's shave was BBS. You gents have a great week.

With the birthday celebration this past weekend, I didn't have time to get my planned razor for Tarnished Tuesday ready to go, so I went with stainless steel instead.
Maybe next time...-Doug

Tarnished Tuesday
So, I was all excited for this one. I had the perfect razor to use, but it was going to be a challenge. A worn down "The Celebrated Hollow Ground Razor" by A.J. Jordan (lower left corner) that is now worn to a wedge. I spent a significant amount of time getting it shave ready and thought it was there.... but it wasn't, I was so focused on getting it there that I never really truly tested it other than the shave. I should know better... T_T Ah well, batter up was my other battered blade (on top of soap). This baby shaves a true treat, even gave it a few licks on a test coti. Plus it was my first time with Thayer's, very interesting stuff and the lady wanted to try it. I may not be able to use it much if she's steals it all....
Razors: A.J. Jordan "The Celebrated" and "Mr. Sandy"(Forget the maker...Apologies)
Soap: Mitchells Wool Fat
Brush: AoS Badger
Post: Thayer's Original, Alcohol free
