So, well, that was nice. Whilst there on business, I stayed at the Muse hotel in one of the city's nicest districts. It's a boutique hotel, and the bathroom was, as you can see, stylishly equipped.

The setup is simple, but effective, and I have been using it a lot over the last two years (the only variable being the brush):

• Meißner Tremonia Mint Ice Menthol shower paste

• Washington Tremlett mp/h perfume

That was rather refreshing at up to 37°C and stifling humidity.

Soap--VDH luxury.
Brush--VDH badger.
Aftershave--Alum block, Dickinson's witch hazel, and a generous splash of homemade bay rum with orange zest.
Pomade--15 drops of cold pressed castor bean oil.
Result--4 pass slicker than snot shave from the W&B. You gents have a great evening. Look sharp and smell nice for the ladies.
