No. If it was it would have been a heck of a buy. It is Wootz though, but it is made by a fellow in EU. I have the maker written down. I can message it to you later if you wish.

    555 VĂ©ritable Mallaret Simplex razor
La Veinette, la Grosse Jaune, unknown Kiita progression
    Kanayama 80000 strop
    TOBS Sandalwood shaving cream
J & T tutto nero custom badger brush
    Alpine absolue serum and cream
    Zarkoperfume Pink Molécule 090-09 EdP

I bought this blade out of sheer curiosity. Thus far I had only seen the Simplex stamp on older David Issard razors, so this one puzzled me a bit. Turns out, this was made by Sauzedde Roddier et Cie; a company founded in 1940 in Thiers. So Thiers after all. I guess the Simplex stamp may have been shared among companies back in those days.
Cleaning and honing were a breeze and a BBS shave resulted.
    Have a great weekend gentlemen!

Beautiful SOTD's this week, gents. Shaun, I am currently playing with an almost identical bone/wootz Snailforge razor thanks to TC. And Celestino, I'm starting to wonder just how many Blackbird razors you have. Do you have them all?
    sharptonn and RezDog like this.
