SOTD FRIDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 6, 2020
Beautiful, sunny, warm weather and another great shave. My Frederick Reynolds is one of my favorite vintage Sheffield razors. The jasper stone edge is a joy to use. The razor, for whatever reason, just feels great in hand, and is a pleasure to use. Three passes (WTG, ATG, XTG) supported by the usual slick MWF lather put the baby to bed. My LaResche 51 delivered a comparable two pass (ATG, ATG) dome shave with a thicker MWF lather. The shave was finished with Lucky Tiger Aspen. I feel refreshed, clean and velveteen.
RAZOR: Frederick Reynolds 5/8 (Mug), NOS LaResche 51 (Dome)
BLADE: Polsilver
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JR Custom Boar #374
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Lucky Tiger Aspen.-Jeff

Thanked: 7Great shave this Friday, the 6th of November.
In keeping with the autumn theme, I pulled-out and enjoyed my Barrister & Mann, “Hallows”.
I’m starting to love the soft scent and conditioning of the balm, super mucho.
And my Shapleigh “Diamond Edge” is the cheapest (and second sharpest) razor I own to date. (Got it at a great price on eBay). Just a super sharp edge. And the point makes those whiskers hiding upwards in my nostril entrances easy prey.
Great shave, great start of the day.
And it’s also Friday.
Straight: Shapleigh “Diamond Edge”
DE: Carbon Shaving CX-316L (Head shave)
Lather: B&M “Hallows”
Balm: B&M “Hallows”
Brush: Wolf Whiskers (Shavemac Silvertip)
Bowl: Captains Choice (large)
