I love how this soap really opens up when the tempurature rises. The bloom just filled the shave den with oakmoss. I regret not getting more now since its become an unobtainable.

Thanked: 7O-Tay…so today is a special day.
Why?
Because I’m using the best unscented balm on the market.
I’ve tried a handful of them, and they all work great…in their own way. But they “ALL” leave this thick coat of oil.
Which I guess is good, as it does what a coat of oil is supposed to do for the skin.
But I didn’t want that. I personally don’t like that.
I want it to NOT leave any residue. Nor did I want a layer on my skin that will cause me to sweat on a hot day.
But I noticed that the Captains Choice scented balms always worked great. Not only for the scent, but also in the way that they always absorb completely, and never made my face or head sweat.
I looked online, and it seems that they had an unscented balm at one time, but no more.
Drats!
So I contacted Scott from Captains Choice directly, and he said that he’d sell me an unscented balm.
Boom…I took him up on his offer.
And, Sho Nuff…it arrived last night.
So today I’m pairing it with PAA’s “Blue Samhain”.
By the way, what a fantastic soap. It’s their CK-6 formula. And I read somewhere recently that it’s also vegan.
Whaaaaaaat?
Just a soft, “a-little-goes-a-long-way,” incredibly slick and great lathering soap.
To end, the soap was incredible. The balm was STUPENDOUS, and the splash (once super diluted with the balm) was also spectacular.
The Koraat was recently honed, so it was screaming sharp. And the little Mühle synthetic brush can lather and paint like there’s no tomorrow.
Smoking shave!!
And if you want to try the absolute, hands-down, bestest unscented balm on the market…contact Scott from Captains Choice for an unscented version.
And a closing tip.
Everyone should have a great unscented soap and balm in their cabinet. That way all you need to purchase is a manufacturers splash…instead of the soap and balm as well. (If you decide to go this way, you’ll save a few dollars).
Did I mention the balm was fantastic?!
Straight: Koraat 14-2.0 (custom shortened)

Lather: PAA “Blue Samhain”
Balm: Captains Choice “Unscented”
Splash: PAA “Blue Samhain”
Brush: Mühle (synthetic)
Bowl: Captains Choice (large)
