SOTD - Sun Jan 10th - Sat Jan 16th
Location: 36° 10' 25.3416" - 115° 20' 33.198"
Razor: Iwasaki (Domo Aregato Gugi)
Brush: Shavemac D01 - 23/50
Soap: Penhaligon's English Fern (thank you Bassguy)
Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea sensitive
EDT: Vetiver Guerlain
Result: 2 pass BBS +
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This was my first Japanese straight shave. Gugi was so nice to let me try and shave with one as to be able to decide if I would like to invest in one. Boy oh boy. Was I pleasantly surprised. It's extremely fun to use and I was BBS after 2 passes + a few touch ups. I had no problems adjusting to using the razor. I used my right hand and the face side of the razor only during the whole shave. Just 1 tiny blood speck. It all came very natural to me and never did I really have a moment of hesitation. Maybe two or three times did I mimic to use another angle but immediately felt it would be awkward and dangerous to attempt. It will definitely find a spot in my rotation.

The Scheon Burg 775 6/8
Semogue 1305
VDH Glycerin ss
Thayers Original WH w/ aloe
Anherb a/s gel
GFT Spanish Leather Edt
Took the Scheon Burg out of the drawer and gave it around 60 laps on the Tony Miller strop...the blade glided smoothly and I had two great passes. I always like the Anherb which does it's job well and the Spanish Leather is perfect for a 5 degree morning.
