You can eventually progress to a razor sharp pocket knife and then an ax.

It really is not a big problem until you start honing your fingernails

    Thumbs up

    Razorlicious!

No shave for two and a half daze. I almost never shower before I shave but I did today, then I tried the prep that Max found and tried and posted from the old Robeson booklet. And me too - WOW! - I think the most comfortable shave that I have had. Of course I did shower first, and used my new hot pot scuttle with uber lather. But I still think that the prep made a real difference too. Thanks for the awesome tip Max.

Uber-Lather with Art of Shaving Lemon Soap and Cream and a shot of glycerin
used in Robeson prep method, followed with Ogallala Bay Rum Limes and
    Peppercorn After Shave
6/8ths Frederick Reynolds in Faux Tortoise - a Maximilian masterpiece
    G5 Scuttle from Georgetown Pottery
Edwin Jagger medium silvertip with clear acrylic handle
    Uber-Lather
    Ogallala Bay Rum After Shave
and of course - Nivea Sensitive After Shave Balm

Uber-tastic !!! So 'licious that I almost didn't use the Nivea

    Razor: 6/8 Dovo Pearlex
    Astringents: Alum block and T.H.W.

Results: A mellow mood and a nice shave absent a few small nicks that I'll be able to survive to shave another day!

Well, this shave is very special to me. Around September, my parents decided they'd split the cost of a custom razor with me for my 19th birthday , and I had admired Gabor's (Buddel) work. I collaborated with him to come up with this beauty. It's a 6/8's French tip around 1/8 hollow blade in desert ironwood scales.

After not receiving it for a long while, we'd thought they might have lost it. Today, the mailman rang the doorbell holding a package from Germany.

Crappy iPhone pic, but there will be more pics to come.

    Monday Evening

    Location, 52° 45' 55.10460 - 0° 57' 31.22065
Beard Prep: Lather, hwr, Bay Rum, lather, Shave
    Razor: Bengall
    Strop: Dovo 40 canvas/40 Leather
    Brush: Kent BK2
    Soap: Prorasso Cream
    Astringent: Thayers Green
ASB: Nivea Anti Irritation Post Shave Balm

Conclusion: The Bay Rum pre shave is ok for me, not as good as Prorasso Preshave, or better yet a Hot shower first,
But still works fine. and I Love The Smell! SHAVE ON!!
