Thanked: 431Razorlicious!
No shave for two and a half daze. I almost never shower before I shave but I did today, then I tried the prep that Max found and tried and posted from the old Robeson booklet. And me too - WOW! - I think the most comfortable shave that I have had. Of course I did shower first, and used my new hot pot scuttle with uber lather. But I still think that the prep made a real difference too. Thanks for the awesome tip Max.

Well, this shave is very special to me. Around September, my parents decided they'd split the cost of a custom razor with me for my 19th birthday , and I had admired Gabor's (Buddel) work. I collaborated with him to come up with this beauty. It's a 6/8's French tip around 1/8 hollow blade in desert ironwood scales.
After not receiving it for a long while, we'd thought they might have lost it. Today, the mailman rang the doorbell holding a package from Germany.
Crappy iPhone pic, but there will be more pics to come.

Conclusion: The Bay Rum pre shave is ok for me, not as good as Prorasso Preshave, or better yet a Hot shower first,
