    ralfy,

Your creativity with photo editing is quite impressive...It raises the bar and forces us all to begin to think outside the box in the creation of our own SOTD posts.

    Ralfy,

As they say in golf...It ain't the equipment...It's the operator.

    Default SOTD Saturday 1/30/10

    Prep: Long relaxing shower
    Strop: Tony Miller Practice Strop
    Scuttle: Dirty Bird 1.5
    Brush: Bjanzen custom
Blade: Crown Razor Co. Extra Hollow ground (6/8?)
    Soap: Col. Conk
Results: good shave, stropping is getting better, 2nd time using this blade, it is wicked sharp, really like the weight of the blade.

    Saturday:

    7/8 Joseph Elliot Celebrated wedge
    Tony Miller Linen/Latigo/Horsehide
    Semogue 1305
    Valobra Shaving Stick
    Dominca Bay Rum

The Elliot was the first wedge that I successfully honed myself. Took a lot of time as it required some different strokes on the hone. Ended up shaving very well, however, I think it could stand a little more time on the 12K

Oh, and the scales were done by me as well with a coping saw, dremel, and sandpaper.

    doleeo,

Congrats. Your first razor looks good...Nice scales. I'm certain that you are very proud of your accomplishment. Keep up the good work.

BTW...I'll have to let you show me how to hone my vintage Frederick Reynolds to insure that it is shave ready.

    Take care...
