Wed night shave..Jan 27
......continued from page 88
MQ: "interesting facts about Harleys..let's talk about shaving with a
straight razor shall we?
HOG: "sorry I got carried away, as you can see I like bikes."
MQ: So you probably shaved this morning, can you tell us about your
particular shaving chore?"
HOG: "Glad to but; it wasn't a chore and I shaved last night"
MQ: "Care to elaborate?"
HOG: "Well first thing first, and that is I prep my beard by taking a long
hot shower, after the shawer, I use Proraso pre-shave cream. Is this green tub right here."
MQ: Whoa, this stuff smells great!
HOG: "Yes, it is formulated with eucalyptus and methol and it helps oil
my skin. Next, I strop my razor. I use the SRD red latigo strop and webbed
fabric. I usually do 30 laps on each material enough to straighten the edge of the blade. Last night I used a Dorko 300 in red handle. It is this one right here."
MQ: "Man, that is a wide blade"
HOG: Yeap, it's an 8/8 wide blade...plenty of steel to do the job. I lathered my face with a boar's hair brush made by Vulfix is a 22mm knot.
MQ: I think I can pick out the brush from amongst the ones I see here.
Is this one, right?
HOG: "No, this is Mrs. Hog's mascara brush...it is this one here %&*$. The soap I use was MWFS one of my favorites and in my permanent rotation. I then lather and accomplish my shave in three passes in a WAX pattern. With the grain, against and accross...finishing with a cold water rinse. I apply an astringent preferably Thayer's Lemon, last night I used one of my favorite aftershaves Pinaud Clubman.
MQ: Fabulous Mr. Hog...anything else you want to add?
HOG: How come I am low man in the Totem Pole? Control Freak on page 10 and Ralfy on page 15...me? page 99 next to the puzzles.
MQ: I don't know, but you are the editor Mr. Hog
HOG: Nevermind.
MQ: Any last words?
HOG: Yes, SHAVE ON!

I bow before your creative angst Sir Hog
My attempts have just been revealed for the unimaginative scrawlings that they truly are.
You are the Master. from now my posts will represent my humble and lowly status, as is fit for one so crude amongst another so refined.

I know , I know... Hopefully I will have one ready to go shortly. I have a few that I wanted to send off, but thought that I should do a bit of cleaning before having them honed. Just up to about 2000, as I have not grabbed a buffer yet, so I should have another day or so on them. Expect a package from me soon.
