Thanked: 530GLORIOUS!!
Well, I had the best shave yet today, it was fantastic.
The Brush: Omega Boar #11137 (It's lost a little backbone with the break in, but it's juuuuust right)
The Soap: SRD's West Indies Bay glycerine (I love this smell)
The Strop: SRD's Modular Paddle, 25 Felt, 25 Scrub leather, 30 Bridle, 30 Premium I (This thing is fantastic)
The Razor: On a trial/lone from Mike Ratliff (Mike_ratliff on SRP, Betcha'd never guess that one!) An Unnamed razor that was handmade by him, Scaled in Olivewood. This thing is 2-3 times the size of my Dovo, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Just phenomenal work, the spinework, blade, scales, all of it, just beautiful, and it shaves like a dream. I named it Leviathan, since it's size and dexterity (it's perfectly balanced, which surprised me due to it's size!)
Result: My Best shave to date.. I don't know what it was, but the planets really aligned for this one... It was my first ever try at facelathering... Why didn't I try that sooner!? It works so well! Also, the razor, even though the smile took a little getting used to, was absolutely amazing
Honestly, I've never been tempted to steal something in my life, but this razor is pushing all the wrong buttons on my self control! If Mike wasn't such a great guy for letting me try this, and if his SWMBO didn't expect me to never return it, it might just have gotten "lost" in the mail system... However, Mike is a wonderful 'gent, and he deserves a good "I told you so". As such, Mike, this will be sent back out after I get to give it another good go, thanks so much for the opportunity!

I picked up this razor, and a handful of others, last week during a lunchtime stop. I also purchased a DMT-325, Naniwa 3k/8k, and a Naniwa 12k from SRD. This was my first ever razor honing. I reset the bevel on the 325, ran her through a 3k/8k pyramid, followed by 15 laps on the 12k, and 100 laps on the Premier Black Latigo. This razor did not disappoint. All glide and no pull, just the sound of hairs falling by the way.
Have a great night and rest of the week!
