    Default SOTD 05/04/10

Prep: Splashes of cold water on face
    Soap: Knize Ten
    Brush: Trumper's Ivory
Razor: Filarmonica 14 Doble Temple with RW carbon fibre scales
    Aftershave: Proraso
Result: Pretty darn close for only one pass. I think also has to do with cold water shave which I am really enjoying. Especially since I live in a relatively hot climate. I have five stitches in the back of one hand that means I wasn't going to do with or against just yet as I didn't want to get the cut wet. Surprisingly the cut was not a from a razor! Managed well and boy do I love this razor.

    Default Top Shelf Shave

    Location: 40°46'22.50"N 73°58'18.77"W
Music: Elgar Variations and Sibelius N. 3
Razor: Juan Vollmer S.A. Palmera 14
Brush: Rudy Vey Ivory 2 Band
    Soap: Penhaligon's English Fern
    Astringent: Ogallala Bay Rum
    AS: L'Occitane Cade
Result: Easily one of my best shaves yet.

I don't know about you gents, but I have a great Easter day. I played in Central Park for 3 hours with a sax buddy of mine for all the beautiful people in their best dressed, the weather was great, the tips were great, I felt great all day. Only way to cap such a day off is with a hot shower and a shave.

Thanks to Max this is the sturdiest and classiest razor in my rotation. It's also obviously the sharpest, in a single stroke putting to shame the 3 other razors I was shave testing. Back to the hones!

Looks like I've finally got the edge on this razor sorted out. After the initial hone, the shaves were just OK. I stropped it for a while, then finally after a so-so shave on Friday, decided to take it back to the hone. Apparently that was the ticket. BBS shave this morning and I think my neighbors could probably hear the feedback.
