    Merkur "Vision" brush

Left a slightly rough patch on my throat, but the lack of cuts or nicks makes it a good shave nonetheless.

    RT,

I have some cornhuskers lotion buthave never considered using it on my face. I assume you are using this as an aftershave lotion. How well does it work?

    Jim,

It works nicely. I apply it with damp hands and work it in well. It dries with a matte finish and leaves my skin feeling very smooth. I seldom use it as an aftershave, but always enjoy it when I do.

    Terry,

The razor came from Robert Williams (PapaBull). My first shave with it today...shaves as great as it looks!

Best sraight razor shave since I started, and it was courtesy of my favorite Wade and Butcher 5/8 razor. Not much to look at, but a great shaving razor!!

I guess I'm a simple man, but a simple soak with a hot towel to presoften the beard, lather with an inexpensive boar bristle brush using Proraso soap, and a good, close shave with the W&B 5/8.

My after treatment is likewise very simple, using Aloe Vera gel after my cold water rinse.

Great shave, though, and my Mach 3 can't beat it with twice the number of strokes.

...back home after three days on the road with a cartridge thingy...

    Hot shower
    Pure badger antique brush
    Unscented goats milk bar soap
Wade & Butcher 7/8 "India Steel" razor
Fresh Aloe squeezed from the plant on the window ledge

It is good to be home!

    Talking Rapture!!!!

Over the weekend, I was running all over the place and I was too tired for a proper shave, so I used my Philishave... The problem was that the shave left me more than a day's growth after shaving with a straight. Well, today I said "enough is enough," took a shower, lathered up with the edge shave gel, stropped, rinsed that crapola off my face, then used my C&E brush and Cavendish Black soap.. Then I took the Taylor's Eye Witness to my face and ended up with an amazing shave. A rinse with warm water, a rinse with cold water, Dominica Bay Rum and some facial creme finishde the job. The experience was almost religious. The crazy part is that tomorrow, my face will still be cleaner than right after a shave with my Philips

    Hot Shower
    Proraso Pre Shave
    Proraso soap
    Cheap Walgreen's Brush
    5/8 Tuckmar Straight
    Cornhuskers lotion (good idea RT)

An all around fair shave. I am improving.
