Thanked: 953I love small blades. I have a 4/8 robeson nubak that is a little monster - stiff and sharp - great shaves. And I've got a 9/16s henckels that is a light brigade in it's own right. I also love mini-wedges - I have a heljestrand 24 that's about 4/8 that is wedgy and it's just awesome, as is it's slightly bigger brother the heljestrand 23, which is one of my favorite razors. And I have a 5/8 or just under weltmeister (42 or 24, I forget) that is a small, wedgey terror. Those little guys pack a serious punch, as your leverage is much closer to the edge.

Trumpers Shave cream
Dirty Bird
Custom Badger Brush
Aluminum Block
Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel
Vaseline for Men
Razor, Just arrived from Dylan (holli4pirating) Wade and Butcher Celebrated Barbers notch, freshly honed on a Coti. Stropped on linen and leather SRP P1.
Wonderful shave!!!! Just a light touch and the whiskers fell away. I love the W&B Barbers Notch Celebrated.
I then went and made Ice Cream Sandwiches from scratch. I was so distracted, I forgot the flour and had to make a second batch!!
Dylan......Bravo!!!!

Haydn Randall & Co. 5/8
Semogue 2009 LE
Tryphon Mentolo ss
Thayers WH w/ aloe
444 a/s balm
Aqua Velva a/s
Royall Lyme splash
After waiting all day for the UPS truck for a signed delivery, I was finally able to hit the shower for a proper shave prep. Went for the Haydn Randall and the Tryphon Mentolo. Developed decent lather with the LE but just barely got two passes and a head shave out of it before it started to thin out. Nonetheless I was able to get a very decent shave out of it all. Once again, I left something out of the picture (today it was the AV). So it goes...

The Mission....
Razor: J. R. Torrey 0146
Soap: Proraso
ASB: Proraso
Result:Today I woke up rather early and the only thing I could think of as I made/drank my morning cup is what razor I was gonna shave with. After a few minutes of looking at my collection the 0146 Torrey started to shape up as "the one" for today. I quickly hit the hones, 40 minutes and about 300 laps later i was greeted with an amazing shave. At first the round point had me a little scared (after my experience with that rather deceiving Waker that Robert leant to me) but my initial nervousness passed as the blade scared the little stubble i had right off my face. I think i have now worked out a rather long but amazingly smooth edge building routine on my Shaptons, and todays shave was one of the best i've had in my entire straight razor shaving endeavor.
Happy shaving everyone
