By my mind, everyone gets a lot of inspiration looking at all this beautiful equipment of our members. Most of the pictures are not only "shots". There is a lot of work inside some of the pictures. Roberts pictures are the most important because of it's esthetics.
And (of course) the themed SOTD are very good.
I certainly agree. I draw many of my ideas from the beautiful pictures the members post. If I offended by the word "shot," I apologize. I certainly did not intend to slight the work that goes into the various pictures that you, and the other members posting, put into your compositions. They are truly phenomenal works!Quote:

Robert gave us tutorials for special effects. So our pictures will be better and better.
But I think it is also legal to post a "shot" if there is no time to "create" a Photography. Everybody who post articles in this thread loves this thread and we should say "thank you" for the time all of you invested.

Last night, I quickly touched up the edge using the following polishing progression; (A) 10 laps on the Y/G Escher (light slurry with 4 dilutions), followed by (B) 15 laps on the Nakayama Kiita (slurry with 3 dilutions). Beautiful, sharp and smooth edge, easily passed HHT. But what about the shave? amazing!!! 3 passes and BBS (would make any baby jealous). I also decided to mix things up a bit and tried something unconventional with my lather; Mixed a pea size amount of Cella with some Mama Bear's Soap and added a couple of drops of glycerin. An explosion of lather was what I got (which was expected), but the side effect of this wonderfully rich and vibrant creme was a ultra moist, slick and super thick and creamy lather. Wooowww...What a treat. It certainly looks like mixing Tallow and Glycerin-based soaps was a success. Hmmmmm. I wonder what would mixing "Lanolin + Glycerin" or "Tallow + Lanolin" or even "Tallow + Lanolin + Glycerin" lead to? Well...that is an experiment for another SOTD. This lather making business has a lot of potential and it is fun to experiment. A mix of D.R. Harris' Arlington AS Milk with a few drops of Irisch Moos AS splash gave closure to a wonderful and blissful shave this AM. This is definitely going to be a great day.

A bit of experimenting with todays shave. I usually use a Feather or a DE for my daily head shave. But today, I figured it was time for the real deal again, using a straight for everything above the shirt. It worked out perfect. Smooth all over, after a total of 3+3 passes.
