    Akamatsu M-55 Manaslu 7/8 | Kanayama | Ever-Ready C40 w/ TGN Silvertip Grade A | CarrieM BRV + Tabac + Glycerin | Thayer's Lavender | CarrieM AS Milk | Montale Black Aoud (Concentrated)

I got my new Akamatsu and had to take her to the stones to see how she would perform. Did 40 Circles and 20 X-Strokes on the 1K just to make sure the bevel was set then hit the 4k/8k. After the Nortons, I used my Nakayama Kiita with meijiro slurry and water then I hit the Nakayama Asagii with honzan slurry and water. I was a bit disappointed because the Livi did such a good job yesterday that I didn't think there was anything to shave. The Akamatsu, though, did its job. It found what little bit of facial hair I had left and erased it! The shave was incredibly smooth and I was left BBS.

The post shave was just as luxurious with the incredible moisturizing of CarrieM's milk and it was all tied together with a bit of Montale!

Also making an appearance in today's SOTD is one of my cufflinks for today. It shows the kanji for "Ai" which means love. It was appropriate today because I am in love with the hardware and software appearing today!

Great SOTD's gents, please keep them coming!

Looks like a great start Tom! Have you decided on your travel shave kit yet? How many razors are you going to pack? I'm just curious. When I travel, I only bring 1 out of fear of them being "lost" with the airlines. Have a fun & safe trip

    Glenn,
I'll take only one straight razor with me- the Revisor. And I take also with me the Feather DE. I got a very nice travel-brush by Muehle and if I not get today a Calani-stick, I'll use Proraso.
ASB will be the Florena. That's it.
Stay tuned ... I'll post articles every day.

Result: I don't use the scuttle enough, the warm suds were great! 2 passes in the goatee area, 3 for the rest. Very, very smooth...like butta! This razor is the stuff. All around a great shave, except where I shaved over some razor bumps on my neck hiding under the stubble. Still a super deluxe, gourmet shave though!
    Nice Henckels Jason

A very nice shave, one nick though. Loaded the brush for 5 sec only, but I got more than enogh lather (I´ve got really soft water though). I´m surpirsed by how much it produces. We had loaded up with candy yesterday, but only three kids showed, maybe more´ll come tonigh .
    Mikael,
Nice Helje my friend . But sorry about the nick mate. Sounds like the Ghouls and Goblins of yesterday "haunted" the blade just as a reminder of who really owns the night .

Beautiful Manaslu Bill and congrats on a successful honing. Does your wife know that she's competing for your love though ? I'd love to see you wiggle your way out of this one buddy
