Post Week of October 31 SOTD - Monday

    Monday (Post-Halloween) Shave

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Razor: 11/16" F.W. Engels "Perfect Temper", Full Hollow, Spike Point
    Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger
Strop: Neil Miller Linen (55 laps) + SRD Premium IV Leather (65 laps)
Überlather: Al Raz' Custom Shave Creme + Glycerin
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer
    AS Splash: Floid Italian Blue
Result: Continuing on yesterday's Halloween theme, today's shave is in the tomb of the fallen (whiskers that is ) using the "Perfect Temper". And what an appropriate name for this razor. This beauty is as "coooooool" as they come with just the perfect temper, even with the nastiest of stubble. Al's creme was the perfect medium where this blade performed its magic "whack of death". This picture was taken a couple of weeks back for Al's website...I decided to use the gear today. Why let a good picture go to waste, eh?

We had a busy night...wife was volunteering/coordinating kids' Halloween at our local community center (lots of kids) and I later joined for cleanup activities (what are husbands for?). While I was home, tons of kids came knocking...enough that we ran out of goodies for them...but they all got a good scare.

    Have fabulous Monday gentlemen .

Ha ha, yes indeed, prob. so... I could live with one nick a year, lol.

Edited: Very nice picture Robert, it would have been a waste not to use it.

My Dad, after serving 10 years in the Navy, joined the Army when war broke out in Europe. He saw alot of action with the 110th Infantry Regiment on the beaches of Normandy, and in the Ardennes Forest. Some of the scars never healed completely.
He's gone 35 years, and I miss him and his counsel to this day... And I continue in my attempt to be half the man he was.
His grandson is kneeling in the photo to the right...

    Prep: Hot towel
Strop: SRD Premium IV English Bridle
    Scuttle: SRD
Brush: TGN Premium A Silvertip custom
Uberlather: Mama Bear's Coffee, Saint Charles Shave unscented, 5 drops glycerin
Razor: Kobar "Souvenir of Stuttgart" in custom birdseye maple scales
    After Shave: Pinaud Clubman
    EDT: Cuba Red
Result: A great shave this morning. The blade mowed down the whiskers effortlessly. The coffee scent of Mama Bear's soap was great as I sipped a hot cup of coffee while making my lather. Tried some new angles for the jaw line this morning and was rewarded. The Cuba Red is an inexpensive EDT, but I love the smell (smells like a cigar humidor).

The picture in the background is a photo I took of the Eiffel tower at night when I was in Paris a few years ago. Have a great day gentlemen, you deserve it!
