Post Week of October 31 SOTD - Friday

    TGIF Shave

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Razor: 6/8" Thiers-Issard Historical "Rooster & Fox", Worked Back, 1/4 Hollow, Round Point
    Brush: 25mm Vestavia Silvertip Badger
Überlather: CarrieM Bay Rum Shave Creme + Cella Crema da Barba Shave Soap + Glycerin
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer
    AS Splash: Floïd Italian Blue
Result: Wickedly nice shave today. The TI received a nice refresher on the Maruka Asagi (w/ slight slurry). Took on an amazing edge...no need for stropping. The CarrieM and Cella combination was amazing!! LOTS of moist and slick lather with plenty of cushion - enough for at least 5 more passes. This fuller grind TI is a heck of a blade. Quiet as a whisper. Woooshhhh and voila! stubble gone. Repeat. Aahhhhhhh. A beautiful and smooth shave. I love this wet shaving business. Everything in life should be as enjoyable. Throw in some Floïd/moisturizer mix and I am ready to "rock and roll".

PS: Throughout the shave today, I couldn't help but think about the article I read (which I posted here) regarding the fact that every time we shave, we are taking as much skin as we are stubble (on average ~0.5 mls of it)...talk about serious exfoliation!!!!

Have a marvelous Friday gentlemen .

    Default Super Stone

    Filarmonica DT 13
    Yardley Shave Soap
    Rudy Vey Two Band Ivory
    Ogallala Bay Rum
    Nancy Boy Cooling Gel
    Nakayama Asagi

I had dinged the Max-Perfect edge on this a while back, and brought it back on my stones but it never quite was the same. Yesterday I decided to try out this Asagi hone on this razor to pull the razor back into peak performance. Using only water and a taped spine, I used about 50 very careful slow X strokes. The stone is awkwardly shaped but I find it works perfectly for X's. Gentlemen, the edge now screams, and the smoothness of my chin attests to that fact. BBT smooth.

    Default FRIDAY WTG SHAVE

PREP: Hot shower with hot towel
    RAZOR: C-mon HF
    BRUSH: PJ3
SOAP: The Bomb in Sweet Neroli
    ASTRINGENT: Thayers WH
    ASB: AlRAZ Sweet Neroli
    AS: NONE
    EDT: "Swiss Army" cologne
    RESULT: GREAT!!!!

Just wanted to stay smooth since shaving yesterday, so I lathered up some Bomb because it never lets me down and took out the C-mon. One nice light WTG over the entire face and I feel as fresh as I did yesterday, believe me when i say I would never be able to shave 2 days straight with a mach 3. Feeling rejuvenated I reached for some Swiss army cologne and a few sprays later Im out the door fresh and feeling GREAT!!!!!!

PICS THIS WEEK LOOK INCREDIBLE GUYS !!!!!!!!!!
