This Imp I purchased as NOS, never used. Came in the original plastic and wrapped inside wax paper.
I took everyone's advice and did not hone this razor myself. I stropped it to death as advised, 100 laps felt and leather. I was impressed with the shave but it was harsh. It cut the whiskers easy enough and did not pull, but I think it needs to be refined a bit.

I am off tomorrow and decided to have a wee bit of Scotch tonight alongside a small amount of my favorite Penn State Ice Cream. I'm going to have to make a run to see my daughter as I am running low on the Ice Cream. What a fabulous combination.

    Have a great evening.
Excellent SOTD! A very nice razor and a very nice bottle of scotch...gee, now that you mention it...i'm a bit thirsty
Have a good time visiting your daughter.

Thank you...it was meant as a pun and seems like you are the only one who got it and voiced your opinion...maybe others as well, but decided not to comment

At home I use laminated film.

And of course... I prepared some pictures with the vacation equipment at home.
But such metallized film and black film I have everytime in my photo-bag.

A real mirror don't brings such effect.
Not for all special effects you need Photoshop.
    Thanks for quoting, Robert.
BTW this night we'll get some T-storms, but tomorrow we have a sunny day
That's a very neat little trick. Very clever . I like it. I have to try it one of these days. I like the crinkled reflection and effect.

You could do it with PS but way to complicated...your way is 2 seconds and done

Enjoy your time in the US

    Thanks Glenn,

I like the pig because he (or she??) is so colorful. I can't forget my friend Froggy, he's one of my closest buds, and I love the expression on his face!

I can see I'm gonna' need some new props!!

    Jeff,

I'm a lover of The Glenlivet also! It was the single malt I cut my teeth on, and still a favorite... Maybe it's like one's first girlfriend... Ya' just never completely get over 'em!
Enjoy the trip to Penn State!

    Robert,
don't use mirror-like film, the best is non-mirror film (aluminium-film??)
Hope you understand what I mean.

    TOBS Avocado shaving cream
    Semogue 2040HD brush
Filarmonica Sub Cero 14 straight razor
Old Spice Musk by Shulton aftershave splash

I picked this vintage Old Spice today and I just used for the first time. I can't believe how great it smells! I even skipped the 444 balm after the splash so I can keep the scent in my skin! Oh boy, what a treat!

    Default "Method Shave" Thursday!!

Fingers | Musgo Real Cream | Gillette + Astra | Musgo Real Aftershave Balm

Today was the first day in my life that I actually slept through my alarm going off. I had my filly all stropped and ready to go from the night before, but after waking up at 9:00 and having to be in court by 10:00, I had to improvise.

I did a modified version of the "method shave" this morning. Lathered using the Musgo cream and my hands and went to work with one pass from the DE. My skin was smooth, but starting the day out in such a hectic manner is never a good thing.

Today I realized why I put the time and effort in to straight shaving. I start everyday with something I look forward to and that relaxing time spent with the razor puts me in the best frame of mind to tackle my day.

Cheers Gentlemen! Great SOTD's as usual!
