Week of October 31 SOTD - Wednesday
Wednesday - Harvest Shave
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Razor: 11/16" F.W. Engels "Perfect Temper", Full Hollow, Spike Point Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger Strop: Neil Miller Linen (60 laps) + SRD Premium IV Leather (70 laps) Überlather: Al Raz' Da Bomb Shave Creme + Glycerin Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer Cologne: Alt Innsbruck EDC Result: Back to the Engels today...I really like the consistently clean shave this razor delivers. An absolute pleasure to work with. And every time I do, I am reminded of the fact that she was a stray that I picked up on eBay . It's better to be lucky than good, I guess. And, what about Al's creme? Well...what can I say? It's just AWESOME...Rich, thick and moist. No need to dilute this über-experience by mixing anything else. Simply fantastic!! Another BBS shave today.

Have a great Wednesday gentlemen .

Thanked: 13249Wow a shave day totally to me ???
So ended up with no customer's razors on the schedule for the day I get to do one for Me????
So I just finished this "Bismark" up with a full polish and new scales and decided to push the honing and stropping to the limit after reading this thread...
http://straightrazorpalace.com/honin...after-12k.html
I have one of those very sensitive faces, in fact that was what I love about straight razors, that fact I get get no irritation from them... We're talking AOS and C&E products are the max I can use on my face... I can't even think about using a multi blade or an electric two days in a row my face would be a red mass...
So I take the Bismark to the limit I really push the edge, set the bevel on a Norton 1k and then 1-2-4-6-8-16-30 on the Shaptons the edge is a scary sharp mirror... So now I take it another step, SRD hanging felt with 10 laps of .50 Diamond the 15 laps of .25 diamond... 50 linen and 100 leather on the #827 Illinois last night...
This morning I shave before the shower, using only a Conk Pure badger and some Prairie Creations "Old Spice' shave soap...
I lather on the face do 25 very light very perfect laps on the SRD Premium 1 buttery soft leather... I dip the brush and re-work the lather on my face...
First pass WTG followed by a HWR
re-lather
Second Pass XTG followed by a HWR
re-lather
Third pass ATG followed by a HWR
rinse

Clear Water edge pass

Old Spice Original a/s

Zero irritation
Loving it...

For the last few years, Wednesday has been my day to go to the club to shoot clay targets. This summer was just too hot, but now things are picking up again. Sporting is on the menu for today, and shown is a Rocket target and a Battue, also known as a "Flying Razor Blade," appropriately enough. We'll be using my currently favored 3/4 ounce 16 gauge reload in a Federal purple hull...
I'm off!
